Permit engineering review by a licensed PE

Plan check rejections cost weeks. Our permit engineering review puts a licensed professional engineer on your set before it goes to the building department: checking code compliance, coordination, and completeness, then stamping the set so it is ready to submit.

What a permit engineering review covers

A licensed PE reviews your plans against the adopted building code and local amendments for the project address. The review covers structural adequacy, MEP coordination, missing details and schedules, calculation-to-drawing consistency, and whether the set includes what that building department’s checklist requires.

You get clear markups of what needs to change. Once the set is ready, the same engineer can stamp it, so you do not need to hire a second firm.

Independent design verification and checking

Design verification is a second look at calculations and drawings before they go to the building department. Firms ask for it when a set was produced in-house and they want an outside check, or when a client requires an independent review before submittal. A licensed PE checks loads, member sizes, equipment schedules, and the code edition against the project address, then returns markups of what has to change.

That check is not the same step as sealing. The engineer stamps the set only after taking responsible charge of the final drawings. Most permit jobs use both: verification first, then a permit-ready seal from the same reviewer.

Plan check comments and resubmittals

Already received plan check comments? Upload the comment letter with your set. A licensed PE will respond to the engineering items, revise or supplement calculations where needed, and return a stamped resubmittal.

Engineering support for contractors

General contractors and design-build teams use our permit engineering review as outsourced engineering support: a licensed PE on call for construction permit engineering, change orders that need a revised stamp, and field conditions that need an engineer’s letter.

FAQ

What is the difference between PE review and PE stamping?
A PE review checks the set and marks up what needs to change. PE stamping is the engineer sealing the final set once they take responsible charge of it. Most permit jobs need both, and we handle both under one quote.
Do you do independent design verification?
Yes. A licensed PE can check calculations and drawings prepared by your team and mark what needs to change before you submit. Sealing is a later step, taken only after the engineer accepts responsible charge of the final set.
Can you help after my permit was rejected?
Yes. Upload the plan check comments with your drawings. A licensed PE responds to the engineering items and provides a stamped resubmittal.
Do you offer engineering review for contractors on an ongoing basis?
Yes. Many contractors send us every permit set that needs a licensed engineer. Contact us to set up repeat work.
